Small Business Marketing By Asking Questions

The quickest and fastest way to improve your small business marketing is to find out what your customers really want by asking them.
In order to make this happen you have to either be on the front line yourself and speak to your customers directly or you have to have your customer service staff trained to ask your customers the right questions. Either way speaking to your customers is a must as the information you take away from these conversations is invaluable!
And the great thing about this is that you’re always going to get people that will just talk your ear off about whatever product or service it is you’re selling.
I can’t tell you how much info I’ve come away with (not to mention all the ideas I’ve had for small business marketing) from speaking to potential clients… I mean I’ve come out with new product ideas, sometimes you’ll get information about your competitors and of course you’ll get some people that’ll just say something like:
“You know what I’d like to see? A widget that does…”
I mean talk about putting a new product on a silver platter.
And not only that but getting feedback on your products or services from existing customers is critical to your staying ahead of the pack.
You need to know why your customers like your product, what your customers dislike about your product and finally you want to know why potential clients who did not buy your product… well pretty much you want to know why they didn’t buy.
When you’re marketing a small business you don’t have the luxury of guessing wrong all too often and that’s why it’s critical to talk with your customers and try to get a better feel for what they really want.
Not what you think they want… but what they really want.
The best from of small business marketing is creating a product or service that you don’t have to sell at all. Create something you already know they want and then just put it in front of them.
How’s that for some small business marketing?
